Christmas Then and Now

December 11th 2009 17:10
Two photos showing two family Christmas stories. The first from 1919 features Secretary of War Newton Baker and his family. The latter is a modern generic Christmas setting. I think it is amazing seeing how far we have come in a century. The middle class today probably live as well as the rich did 100 years ago. Capitalism does indeed work by making the pie larger as opposed to socialism that spreads misery equally. Hat tip to www.shorpy.com for the photo. Check out the site for some incredible pictures.
