Dems Dodd and Dorgan Announce Retirement

North Dakota Senator Byron Dorgan and Connecticut Senator Chris Dodd both announced that they will not seek re-election this fall. The surprise press conferences dealt another blow to the Dems chances of holding on to their 60 vote majority. I would expect ND to go to the GOP but doubt a Republican can win in the far more liberal state of Connecticut.
