Disney's A Christmas Carol: One Word Review

For those who are busy and don't have time to read a full review here is the short short version.
Disney's A Christmas Carol is
Disappointing
For those who might want a little more information here is the long version.
I love animation, Robert Zemeckis, Jim Carrey, Disney, 3D, and A Christmas Carol. With all that how can it be that I did not like this film? For one I expected to be wowed by the animation. I may be spoiled, but I expected to see gigantic improvements over Polar Express (which I love btw) but if anything the characters seemed to be more wooden and to actually take a step back. Scrooge was way too thin to be human and Cratchit was a dwarf (no joke he was really short) Another area that bothered me was that while Disney did stick pretty close to the book and did not go too "cute" there were some awkward scenes of comic relief that should have been left out. I expected an awesome scene when the Ghost Of Christmas Present takes Scrooge on a flight to witness common people celebrating Christmas in different ways. This in my opinion was the best chance to show off the animation innovations but instead Zemeckis left out that scene entirely and expanded the Christmas Yet To Come scenes.
Overall its a decent film that may be too scary for small children. It's also not a film that I plan on viewing every Christmas. I'll keep Scrooged and Patrick Stewart in my holiday rotation for now.
