Happy Birthday Spongebob

The lovable square sponge from Bikini Bottom is turning ten years old this month. Ever since "Help Wanted"aired in May, 1999 Spongebob has kept us entertained and become an iconic part of our pop culture. I have seen most of the 227 aired episodes, with my favorites being "The Krusty Krab Training Video" and "Squidward's Day Off." I've even used him in the classroom with my college students. Every semester I roll out my Spongebob genetics game and let the students see the offspring of different characters.

Thanks to the writers and voice actors for giving us a character that we can watch with our children.
