Joe Biden Fails Math 101
April 1st 2010 04:36
Joe Biden had this little gem of a quote yesterday:
“It’s a simple proposition to us: Everyone is entitled to adequate medical health care,” Biden says. “If you call that a ‘redistribution of income’ — well, so be it. I don’t call it that. I call it just being fair — giving the middle class taxpayers an even break that the wealthy have been getting.”
He went on to say that the top 1% of income owners earn 22% of income. What he didn't mention however, is that they also pay 40% of all taxes, more than their share in my opinion.
The top 50% pay 97% of all taxes leaving the bottom 50 paying just 3% of the total.
I think that if you don't pay taxes then you shouldn't be allowed to vote. I also don't think that the highest office that individuals should be able to vote is for the House Of Representatives with Senators being appointed by governors and confirmed in the state house. This would return some power to the states and was the standard for the first 100 years of this country.
