Knoxville Elementary Shooter Had Violent Past

The man who is accussed of shooting two principals at Inskip Elementary school in Knoxville, TN has threatened violence before. Mark Stephen Foster was taken into a psychiatric ward in the mid nineties after he threatened to kill his boss Terry Mullins from Oak Ridge Tool-Engineering Inc. Foster had been laid off for repeated absences and told his mother that he was taking his guns to kill his boss. Mullins met with Foster at the ward and Foster told him that he would have killed him and anyone, including family members, who was with him at the time.

How did this man get a teacher's certificate? We have become so afraid to confront people who may be mentally unstable that we are endangering many others. This was evident in the case of Major Malik Nadal Hasan, who was promoted even after many raised concerns about this state of mind. That neglect ended in a tragedy. Thankfully in this situation both prnicipals are expected to recover. Thankfully school had been let out early because of snow or it could have become a major tragedy.

I hope there is an investigation into how this man could be cleared to teach our children.
