The Move Your Money craze was started by Arianna Huffington because she was upset at the big bonuses paid out to CEOs at the larger banks. The cause was also taken up by those on the right mad at the banks who took taxpayer bailouts. This made for a strange partnership but has been gaining strength since its inception.
I use a smaller bank for two reasons: because one is close to me and they pay me interest on my checking account.
Before you "move your money" to a smaller bank do a little research and make sure that they are in good standing and are government insured.
