Movies That Scare The Hell Out Of Me: Anatomie
October 19th 2009 01:43
I admit I rented this film for one reason: I've been enthralled with Franka Potenta ever since I saw her in "Run Lola Run".
In Anatomie (American version is Anatomy) Potente plays medical student, Paula Henning, who ihas chosen to in the footsteps of her father and grandfather and become a doctor. She is accepted to the same exclusive German medical school in Heidelberg that her grandfather once taught.
During a train ride to the school she saves the live of a young man. This is short lived however, as the man turns up dead on her dissection table just a few weeks later. Convinced that the man did not die from natural causes, Paula launches into an investigation that will expose an "antihippocratic society" and reveal dark family secrets.
Many reviewers have panned this film for being too slow and boring. It has some lulls but those are to develop the story, something that many horror films don't bother to do.
If you rent this film chose the German version as I have heard that the dubbed one is of poor quality.
