NBC Offers Up Fried Chicken & Collard Greens For Black History Month
February 5th 2010 20:44
The NBC cafeteria in Burbank got itself in hot water this week when they offered up what they thought was "soul food" in honor of Black History Month. Now from what I have ever heard about soul food is that it is comfort food that is as satisfying to make as it is to eat.
I'm aware that the phrases fried chicken, collard greens, and watermelon are offensive to African-Americans and I can understand why, but of the two choices on the menu, I surely would choose the before option, especially at such a good price. I travel a lot and rarely find a place that offers up good home cooked meals.
