GM wants to close the books by next week on the last of the Pontiac and Saturn brands. Generous dealer rebates of up to 7,000 dollars could mean you could buy a new car for as little as 6,500 dollars.
While these are great deals you should ask the dealer if they will continue servicing and stocking parts.
I have recently driven a Pontiac G6 and a Saturn Outlook and found them both to be reliable, economical, and fun to drive. The cheapest car in the mix would be the sub-compact Pontiac G3 which might be a good first car for someone who doesn't need a lot of trunk space.
