Read Catcher In The Rye Online

With the recent passing of recluse author J.D. Salinger many people who haven't read his famous novel Catcher In The Rye, that was a call to arms for many teenagers, are interested why it was so controversial that it was banned in many schools.
The book, written in first person, follows the exploits of recent high school dropout Holden Caulfield and his struggles with alcohol, loneliness, and teenage anger. His believe that the world was phony is echoed by his author who would spend the last forty years of his life living in isolation in a tiny New Hampshire town.
An interesting sidenote, Salinger was the tagalong author in the W.P. Kinsella novel Shoeless Joe Comes To Iowa but was replaced by the fictional character Terence Mann( played wonderfully by James Earl Jones) in the Field Of Dreams movie version.
Through the magic of the internet and this blog, I present a link to read one of the greatest books of the last century.
