See's Candies Creates World's Largest Lollipop
July 26th 2012 14:37
Call it channeling my inner Clark Griswold or just a design flaw but I'm a sucker for the strange and unusua roadsidel attractions that give sleepy little communities across our country a place on the tourist map.
While others are looking for theme parks or the major attractions I'm circling the "World's Largest Acorn" on my must see list.
Thankfully See's Candies is helping to add an entry into my ever expanding bucket list of offbeat attractions with the Guiness Book record for the world's largest lollipop.
The largest lollipop was 3176.5 kg (7,003 lb), and was created by See’s Candies (USA) at See’s Candies Lollypop Factory in Burlingame, California, USA, on 18 July 2012.
The lollipop was chocolate-flavored and had the following measurements: 4 feet 8.75 inches in length, 3 feet 6 inches in width, and 5 feet 11 inches in height. The lollipop also included a stick which was 11 feet 10 inches tall, though the weight of the stick did not count towards the record.
