Want To Live Longer? Be Chubby!
June 19th 2009 22:39
A new study shows that people who are a little overweight by age forty live six to seven years longer than very thin people. The results held true even when outliers such as anorexia and smoking were considered.
The study considered four different classes of body mass indexes. Normal range was considered to be between 18.5 to 25, with thinness defined as under 18.5. A BMI of 25 to 30 was classed as slightly overweight and an index above 30 as obese.
So my conclusion would be to skip the gym and cigarettes and pick up a beer and an hamburger.
