Who Says Beans Can't Be Fun?

With high unenmployment and gas prices, staycations are quickly replacing longer roadtrips to theme parks, mountains, beaches. Many families are turning to local state parks and smaller tourist attractions to replace the more expensive destinations. There is another alternative however, that seems to get overlooked by frugal staycation planners.
Factory tours are not just for field trips anymore. A visit to a local dairy or cannery will not only will give you a peek at the manufacturing process but can also be a cheap or often free interactive alternative to a costly children's museum.
We decided to brave the cold and get out to visit the local Bush Brother's factory in nearby Cheastnut Hill, TN. My three year old had as much fun there as any children's museum we have visited. Without a doubt, Duke, the talking dog, was his favorite.
